Queso is part of a training challenge called the Appalachian Trainer Face Off. Horses in the ATFO will be in training for 100 days. This training began May 15th, and it runs until August 24th and 25th.

All horses in this event will undergo extremely thorough training, and all of these horses were previously untrained or very green.

To learn about this event and about adopting this horse or another ATFO horse, please visit the event page.

You can follow the progress of this horse daily and weekly in photos and video on the ATFO page:

From Laura, her trainer at her 60 day training check in:

We are still here guys…. chipping away at being soft and moving in and out of all the (many, just so many) different gaits. 😜
On the trail, though? This pony shines. Who likes to move out and feel like you are going somewhere down the trail? Sure footed and point and shoot, gaits or canters like a champ on straightaways. Obstacles are easy.
Time is running out to apply to bid, so please please share Queso with gaited rider friends and help find this lovely girl a forever home. With someone who has more gaited horse experience I think she would be an easy project to really get nice. Also, Q would really excel as a pack pony.
We are down to 30 days left together and plan to haul some places, ride out more and be as consistent as possible in gaits.
