Luck with a Kiss

His “SPECS”:

Sex: Gelding
Breed: OTTB
Coat: Chestnut
Height: 16.3hh
Foal Year: 03/30/2008
Fee: $600
Location: St Albans, WV

He’s a good trail horse, listens well, and is willing to lead or follow. He stands for mounting! He’s got a long stride but isn’t particularly interested in being fast. He also loves scratches anywhere you wish to give them. He rides in a halter and lead rope well. He is a great W/T horse. He does not canter at this time, but with training, we feel sure he’d come around.

He stands quietly for fly sheets and ointment, accepts even a floppy fly mask without complaint, and seems to enjoy attention greatly. His ground manners are fair. He could use a little more understand of personal space.

He needs further work on trailering.

“Lucky is a big, steady horse with big, steady movements. You may never guess that he was once a high-earning racehorse by how calm and easy he is now; in fact, you may have to ask firmly for speed. He got his fill of excitement on the track and is now ready to settle into a long life of showing and trails. He stands calmly to be saddled and mounted, and stands and walks calmly after cantering. He has a big trot and a powerful yet slow canter, and is never headstrong or out of hand. He would make an excellent dressage and/or eventing prospect.”

Lucky has a minor paralysis that doesn’t require a tie back surgery and doesn’t have issues with this except needing fed from the ground.
